Ever since I saw the movie Oliver and Company when I was 4ish I have wanted an orange tabby cat. It's kind of one of those life long dreams that you think will never come true.
But then it did.
I guess it's time to officially announce that Josh and my little family has grown to 3 after we adopted a little orange tabby kitten a couple week ago.
We went to the local animal shelter to hold some kittens and didn't except to fall in love with one, but we did. When we walked in there he instantly ran up to us and wanted to be cuddled the whole time. It's kinda like he knew he was supposed to be ours and then we did too.
But. It wasn't the right time, Josh kept telling me. What about when we move in a year? And we don't have any savings right now. Blah.blah.blah.
But then I looked up names and I said, doesn't he look like a Wesley? And Josh agreed. And then we started calling him Wesley, and went to visit him again. And again. And again. Until it was impossible to not adopt him. And he became part of our little family.
It was perfect really. Apparently since he's so chill all the other kittens wouldn't let him eat and such (since all the kittens are in a giant room together) and he got really sick, and wasn't thriving. So in a way he really needed us. So we took him to the vet and got him some medicine because he had a respiratory infection, the kind that can kill a kitten if it goes too long without being treated. And now he's been growing and playing, and scratching the crap outta my hands.
And coooome oooon, look at that face! Anyone who doesn't think he's adorable doesn't have a heart, I don't care if you're not a cat person, just look at him! Ooooh the cuteness!
The first time we met
When we went back so he could get his shots his brother and sister were twice his size. But we don't mind. We'll take him big or small because we love that little guy... Even though he gets random bursts of energy at 5 AM and likes to run across our faces with his claws out. Yeahh... those claws gotta go. I mean, you'd probably feel the same if he clawed his way up your bare legs more than once.
Now here are a million photos of my favorite kitty:
Yep. We took him on our road trip to Seattle. And he loved it.
This one just kills me!
Also, I decided that since I'm in my twenties and have never done anything crazy or reckless it was time to color my hair for the first time ever. I decided ombre is bomb so I bought some dye, from a box... that I bought at Walmart. And my home girl Rachael colored it for me. And it couldn't have turned out better!!! Goodbye hair virginity.
And last but not least. Should I change my blog name again? I'm thinking "Lauren's Loves". I feel like having fashion in the name makes me think I have to only post fashion posts which is soo hard to do when you work all day and look disgusting when you get home. I don't know. What do you guys think?!
And the actual last comment... Josh got two interview invites!!! That's a way good sign since it's still so early in the application process. The schools are: LECOM in Bradenton, FL and UNC in Chapel Hill, NC. Woohoooo!!!
