sometimes i straighten my hair

// shirt&shoes-american eagle // dress-gap //

So I got this dress for my high school graduation. And it still fits. Not sure if that's good because I haven't put much weight on. Or bad because I haven't further developed?
Either way I've alllways loved it, and I'm glad I found it in the dark corner of my closet.
Also. I straightened my hair, as you can tell. Which neeeever happens. But a guy at work told me I look like a blonde Mia Kunis with straight hair...hey, I'll take it. Maybe I'll start straightening it more often?

Lately I've been scanning all my favorite blogs, wondering what they did for the Fourth of July. And I feel like a loser. Hubs and I didn't even leave our apartment. In fact, we only opened our blinds once because we heard fireworks, which lasted for a whooping 5 minutes. It was the laziest of days. And sometimes that's just perfect.
I also coerced him into watching a child flick in the afternoon, and I even let him put the Spanish subtitles on (I was feeling generous). Then I made the most delicious homemade waffles in.the.world. Seriously. Girl got skills. Then topped them with strawberries, peaches, and (light) whipped cream. Just the way I like it.
I don't think we got out of our pajamas all day. Actually, that's a lie. I know we didn't get out of our pajamas. It was the most simple, yet most perfect day for the two laziest people.
However, we made up for it by not only completing our homework over the weekend, but sending in 7 (that's right-7) secondary applications over the weekend! What what! We've officially sent those to:
Boston University, Marquette, Oregon Health Science University, Case Western, University of North Carolina, Roseman University, and Louisville.
Now it's the waiting game until interviews start. And hey, if any of you know someone on an admissions committee at a dental school, or actually know any dental students let me know. I am alll about networking, and husband is allll about getting into a school.

On another note, husband turns 2-5 tomorrow! So happy birthday eve to him! For his birthday he got....dental applications! Yay no more savings!

  2. I recently have stumbled onto your blog & I have absolutely loved it! My husband is in the process of studying for the DAT and will hopefully take it in August/September. It's so exciting to read your blog and see what you are going through with dental applications & whatnot!
Haven't started a blog yet, but I will soon!

    1. Yay that's so exciting Jen!! Is your husband applying this cycle or the next? And does he know where he wants to apply yet?

    2. He is going to start applying this cycle. Hopefully once he takes the DAT in a few months, he'll start sending in those applications! He's has a couple schools in mind, but he'll apply to as many as he can! The school he would love to get in to is the University of the Pacific in Sacramento, CA.

    3. Isn't it so exciting?! Even though it's really expensive I just can't wait to find out where he gets into. We're hoping either UW (in Seattle), UNC (north carolina) or LECOM (Florida). You'll have to let me know how the process is going for you guys. And good luck to him on taking the DAT! If he needs any study material we're selling my husband's DAT and Math Destroyer. He said they were both super good study materials and he ended up scoring in the 99th percentile ;) only if you don't have them though haha.
      Have a good one!

Have an awesome day! Talk to you later!

  13. Are you serious, that sounds like the perfect day!!! I love a day in the middle of the week that's a bonus day - when you don't have to do anything! But you did a ton - congrats on getting out all the applications and being from Louisville (well, only recently) I wish you luck there. It's a great town. Not too big, not too small - just right. And the sports (which I'm not into, but if you are there you can't help but being into) are amazing. Plus Derby, don't get me started.
And adorable outfit. Wish I could still fit in my high school and wish even more than ever I still had them. They are ALL back in style: striped pants, floral blazers, zip pants, skinny pants..oh I could go on!
    Love your blog!

    1. Ahhhh I loved your comment! Nothing gets me more excited than talking to people in the cities we're applying to and hearing how much they love it there. It makes me all the more excited to start that new adventure. And girl if you still had those floral blazers and skinny pants I bet you'd rock them!

    1. Hahaha love it! Last year I was so nice and I bought him these new work out shoes, but unfortunately when his birthday was right after dental applications there was just no way. He's the most laid back guy though, so I know he didn't mind. I'll make sure to post that waffle recipe though! It is by far theeee best I've ever had!
