first day of school. again.

where i got it: blazer, necklace, purse-forever 21 // dress-dillards // shoes-nordstrom

Want to know what my weekend consisted of?

Well. We're back in Rexburg. School starts today. Sweet nuggets, I am not emotionally or physically ready for this. I just want to watch The Walking Dead and eat vanilla pudding with wafers, is that too hard to ask these days?

Just in case anyone was wondering why I was MIA this week, it's because we were driving 12 hours, hauling endless boxes up three flights of stairs into our tiny apartment, asked ourselves how we accumulated so much in less than a year, shoved odds and ends in little places we'll probably never be able to find again (I know this because I spent 30 minutes looking for a lighter, and alas found it in a tiny box under our bathroom sink that had hair cream, bobby pins, and perfume on top of it. How it got there? Who cares.) buying groceries and spending way too much money, getting our books which required spending even more money, washing all of our bedding and towels a few times because that dusty smell from the storage unit just wouldn't go away, and doing other important stuff that I'd rather not be doing.

I realized that in these pictures it looks like I gained 20 pounds. Sweet. Diet officially starts today.

However, I do have some good news. I started my new job and love it! I think I forgot to tell you guys, a while back I said I had a job interview, and wished that you'd all send me good vibes. Well, it worked. Landed the job, and am now an admissions counselor at BYU-Idaho. Woot woot!

Now. Want to hear a slightly awkward/humorous story?

Picture this. Hubs and I are in sunday school at church and the teacher asks couples to write on the chalkboard a quality your spouse posses that you love. Naturally, I wrote, "his rock hard abs". Little did I know, everyone, including my husband would write serious qualities.

Things like "steadfast" (what does that even mean?) and passionate (gross) were on the board. And I'm over in the corner giggling about my answer profusely. Then the teacher reads the answers out loud, gets to mine, everyone looks at me, and doesn't laugh. Well, not counting the teacher's pity laugh. Awkward.

...

At least hubs got a kick out of it.

Alright first day of school, bring it on. But don't really, because I'm not the mood.

  3. Laura - Such a great sense of humor. What a great gift, to be able to shrug it off (the rock hard abs statement) & laugh at yourself! Sometimes we all can be waaay to serious! Lol.
Have a great week & enjoy school & your new job! Congratulations!
